The Preloved Studio is Sustainable Merton’s community textile hub – where creativity meets sustainability. We're on a mission to reduce textile waste, save money, and give old clothes new life.
Since launching in May 2023 at Canons House, Mitcham, we’ve been hosting drop-in sewing sessions, workshops and events that help people learn to mend, upcycle, and rethink their wardrobes – so we actively build a more circular fashion future.
The Preloved Studio also offers residencies at Canons House for local, slow fashion and textile reuse start-up businesses, supporting innovation in circular design.

Residency Spaces
We're helping to build a circular economy by offering residency spaces at the Preloved Studio to local businesses working in sustainable fashion and textile reuse. It’s a space to grow, create, and be part of a thriving community driving change.

Workshops
At the Preloved Studio, we host hands-on workshops led by skilled facilitators, designed to help you build confidence and creativity with textiles.
Past sessions have included Sewing Machine 101, Creative Mending, and Basic Alterations – with more always on the way.

How to find the Preloved Studio
The Preloved Studio is based in the beautifully restored Canons House in Mitcham.
There is free parking at Canons grounds, as well as bicycle racks and nearby bus stops.
If attending a workshop or drop-in session, head to the Canons House main entrance and ring the buzzer.
